A gaming setup should be designed around named games, target resolution, acceptable image settings, frame-rate range and other tasks such as streaming. Balance CPU, GPU, memory, storage, display, power and cooling as one system. A high refresh-rate label, large GPU name or RGB accessory cannot compensate for an incompatible or unbalanced configuration.
Set a measurable target before choosing parts
Record the named games, display resolution, image-quality preference, expected frame-rate range and whether the system also streams, records, edits or runs school and office software. Check official game and operating-system requirements, but treat minimum requirements only as an entry boundary.
The CPU prepares work and the GPU renders graphics, but game engines use them differently. Memory capacity, storage behavior, drivers, cooling, power delivery and background tasks can all affect the experience.

Microsoft defines display refresh rate as the number of screen updates per second and notes that available choices depend on the display and supported resolution. Variable refresh rate can dynamically coordinate compatible content and display behavior.
VESA's Adaptive-Sync certification uses a defined compliance test program. Verify the exact model, input, cable, native resolution, refresh range and enabled settings; a generic phrase in a marketplace listing is not proof of certification or end-to-end compatibility.
